Fireworks Tape and Critics
The number one question I seem to get almost every day is where someone can go to purchase the tape I use in my fireworks projects. From the preliminary test I did it appears the same tape is being sold in rewrapped form at Uhaul. I will include the web site link below. I briefly address some of the critics of my videos and pyrotechnic endeavors. My goal is for you the pyrotechnic enthusiast to further develop your hobby and interest in fireworks by getting your Type 54 fireworks license and purchasing high quality fireworks at a fair price. There are some people in this fireworks industry that want everything to remain in a secretive world and only allow you access as they see fit. Now I am not out to destroy anyone or their business, in fact I am actually out to help sell more fireworks and fireworks related items. I want people in United States to shoot fireworks all year and not just on July 4th. I try to cover everything fireworks related. If you have been following my video you may have noticed the best fireworks rocket builder in United States will show you exactly how he builds what he does. The more you know about this hobby the better it gets. Some pyro enthusiast want you to know more about fireworks and do not feel threatened by you knowing too much. However, there are a few folks out there that think they make the rules for all this stuff and evidently they feel I am not in compliance with those rules. Thank you for the info. I’ve been looking everywhere for this tape or a close substitute. Now from your video I see that my local U-haul store has 38 rolls in stock! I don’t even have to wait for shipping. Thanks again, your video’s have been very helpful to me as I am just getting started in this hobby.
Chances are that the adhesive and paper backing used on both rolls are the same. The difference would be in the top-side coating.

dave let them hate. i joined the pgi because of u i just got home from driving 22 hrs with 2 kids from the convention . we had the best time out there. im getting my atf licence because of you .u have the best vids i learned so much from watching them thank you. keep it up .

Sharing this info with people shows your character. You could of sold Uhaul tape at pyro tape prices and make a fortune. But instead you give us this tip, and many tips to keep people safer while they enjoy this hobby.
first i want to say thanks for selling me the tape it made my show and i had no problem paying 21.00 for 2 rolls. also thanks for finding the tape cheaper for us and im sure all your viewers are just like me and appreciate all your videos. you do great job and those who dont like it just tell them your a gangster lol. thanks dave keep it up.
Dave it is not that we want you to know that you can get your ATF licesence or that you can buy cheaper product. You sometimes show the prices of items which some people say is un fair to the seller of that product. You have shown a few “spicy” products which gets them pulled from the market. I am a member of PU and do not hate you but sometimes you show a little too much. Thanks

Dave, most people don’t understand the time, effort, and money needed to put 450 free videos together. It seems most people don’t see the value in what you offer, and they think it’s outrageous to sell something for a small profit (It was honorable to stop selling your tape once you found it available cheaper and then sharing it with others). I agree that your critics and all about money, they don’t want to share quality product with newer pyros. Apparently it “hurts the hobby”. Take Care.
@Abovegroundfun I found all this out by accident myself. I was purchasing from a paper company.
Another good thing to note if no one else did. Uhaul sells this in their stores too. You dont even have to order it online if you dont want to. I actually saw this stuff last weekend at the Uhaul in monroeville and bought a couple rolls just thinking it looked damn close! Score! Thanks anyways dave!

Dave, don’t let these people side track you. You do a great job with your videos. I think you should and I hope you do make money doing something you obviously love. The critics have no understanding of economics. All they are worried about is buying fireworks “wholesale” and they think that it is some big secret that should not get out. The distributors set their business model and will adjust depending on their competition. Supply and demand is a wonderful thing.
Dave. I say screw the critics. I see nothing wrong with your videos. They are very welcomed by a majority in the hobbiest community I would think. I am with you on the shooting fireworks year round instead of just on the 4th.
