fireworks sold in england. All year we are warned about explosives, yet at this time of year its ok to buy them?

Question by scrpioeyes: fireworks sold in england. All year we are warned about explosives, yet at this time of year its ok to buy them?
this is ludicrous. only in england are individuals allowed to buy them for personal use,as opposed to having public displays only.Isnt it time we banned the sale of fireworks?
‘pray’-you miss my point entirely. People are irresponsible, they throw them around, tie them to animals etc and cause a lot of harm to themselves and others.Just ask the ambulance and hospital service!

No it isn’t time to ban them. You people have so little freedom that it isn’t funny & you want even less.
You eventually become little zombie robots that can’t live unless the govt approves of every decision you make. Let people decide for themselves. Be responsible for your own decisions..

  1. You will be banning the practice of burning effigies of Catholic plotters, popes etc. next.

    But you won’t stop us.

  2. You are no fun are you.

  3. It's him again on April 28th, 2011 at 12:56 pm

You can’t buy them unless you’re over 18. If we banned the sale of fireworks then people would make their own. The materials aren’t hard to find. A black market would open up. More dangerous.

  4. If anything was a waste of money it’s got be fireworks.

  5. Freedom is sometimes messy. Live with it or move to the totalitarian country of your choice.

  6. You already live in a Nanny state of banning this, and monitoring that,
You will always get some twats throwing them about and hurting themselves, but why not ban booze, fags, all knives, matches, aerosols etc…
Firework injurys are a fraction of the A&E patients, but how many have been actually killed by them?
Let ppl buy and use fireworks, smoke in bars, drive at 80mph on the motorway and be “non-PC” as much as we like…a bit LESS constraint is what we all need! :-)
